Born a millionaire, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami would have remained so blessed and lived life king-size, had it not been for his perennial inner quest for ultimate peace and happiness. As a college student, he once heard a lecture by a visiting professor on Lord Buddha. Deeply impressed and influenced by the teachings of the Buddha, His Holiness decided to explore the eastern philosophy by traveling to India and finding a guru. By the will of serendipitous providence, the complete embodiment of the East had traveled to the USA in the form of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the saffron-clad and shaven-headed sannyasi back from Calcutta, West Bengal, India. Soon, His Holiness and His Divine Grace met, the former getting initiated by the latter into the practice of Sanatana dharma handed down through the disciplic succession of Vaisnavas, officially termed the “Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya-Vaisnava Sampradaya”. Now, to this day, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami is a strict and staunch follower of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, whose spiritual legacy he has been preserving and spreading worldwide with indefatigable enthusiasm and inimitable compassion.
